Ace Frehley

The SG doubleneck guitar was also popularized by Ace Frehley of Kiss, most notably during live performances of "Hard Luck Woman."

Best known as the former lead guitarist of the rock band Kiss, Ace Frehley took on the persona of the "Spaceman" or "Space Ace", and played with the group from its inception in 1973 until his departure in 1982. After leaving Kiss, Frehley embarked on a solo career, which was put on hold when he rejoined Kiss in 1996 for a highly successful reunion tour. His second tenure with Kiss lasted until 2002, when he left at the conclusion of what was purported to be the band's Farewell Tour. Guitar World magazine ranked him 14th Greatest Metal Guitarist of All Time. In a 2009 interview with Rock N Roll Experience Magazine, Ace stated, "I'm an Anomaly, I'm an un-schooled musician, I don't know how to read music, but I'm one of the most famous guitar players in the world, so go figure." "Hard Luck Woman" is a very famous song by Kiss and the lead single from their 1976 album, Rock and Roll Over. In a "live" version of "Hard Luck Woman" appears on Kiss's 1977 Alive II album; in which Ace had hold a variation sunburst SG doubleneck.

When KISS hit the stage in 1977 with guitarist Ace Frehley behind a 1967 a variation sunburst SG doubleneck guitar, the entire package—band, guitarist, guitar—embodied the height of glam-rock excess and success for the ’70s. This was the ultimate marriage of pop and heavy rock, driven to meteoric heights by the record industry marketing machine, and ultimately attaining that other worldly presence that great stadium rock should achieve: unbridled fantasy and party-hard reality rolled into one glorious explosion. In celebration of Ace Frehley’s unquestionable status as a rock icon, and the epitome of glam-rock stardom that KISS represented at this crystalline moment in time in 1977, we decide to duplicate this great gear for the vast number of fans and guitarists. The instrument has been crafted in the image of Ace Frehley’s variation sunburst one and it carries all the classic appointments of that great gear in the era.
Here's some pictures of some of Ace's 1996 light cherry sunburst SG doubleneck guitar.

To honor this legendary pairing of artist and instrument, we will also replicate the Ace’s light cherry sunburst SG doubleneck guitar. Please focus on our website, this will be updated irregularly.
